Zach ToelkenOperations and Technical Management

Biography
Zach was an energetic kid when he got his first job in 1994 as a landscaper with Maui Turf Landscaping, in Kihei. It was hard work, and that set Zach up early as a leader with a strong work ethic. In any show or event, you need people who have the stamina to work long hours. That’s Zach. His technical side began to shine through in 1999 when he began his A/V career as a photographer at Media Systems Inc. in Lahaina. There he implemented clients’ photo and video event needs. This experience fueled Zach’s desire for technical knowledge and pushed him to relocate to Orlando, FL, to attend Full Sail Academy, a university that specializes in degrees for media and entertainment.  He graduated in 2001.  Zach returned to Maui to live until 2003 when he left his island paradise for another paradise: the Valley of the Sun in Arizona. His first position was as an AV tech for AVHQ Staging. In 2006 Zach became PSAV’s lead AV/tech resource for all events at the Sheraton Crescent in Phoenix. In 2010, Zach furthered his professional career at 5-0 Productions and continues as a key contributor on all company events.

Adrenaline Rush
Zach ventured into photography while on Maui. He would take his camera on rainforest adventures with his friends. He had plenty of photo ops because the hikes usually involved rock climbing and jumping from waterfalls to the pools below. Zach also was a bodyboarder and spent time night diving for slipper lobsters, a local Hawaiian delicacy. When Zach moved to Arizona, he picked up the game of pool and, at one time played in three different leagues with pool tournaments on weekends. Nowadays Zach keeps busy raising his three kids—a true adventure—and enjoys reading science fantasy novels when he has the chance.
